Tournament Day Checklist
ITEMS:
___ Lifejacket - If you forget this you may
not be able to fish at all.
___ Tournament Rules - Always bring a copy
and review before the tournament. No where the
out-of-bounds locations are.
___ Lake & Contour Maps - Have
these in your dashboard or someplace handy. Have
your GPS coordinates pre-programmed or readily available
with 1st and 2nd choice spots marked.
___ Fishing License (s) - A must, be sure you
have read the tournament rules to find out which ones you
need.
___ Raingear - Remember, at 60mph + on a bass boat,
the cheap stuff will not cut it.
___ Clothing - Always bring a light sweater,
and plan on layering so you can peel layers off throughout
the day.
___ Sunglasses - A must, polarized.
___ Food & Drink - Light snack or sandwich,
granola bars, Gatorade or water (no soda).
___ Sunscreen - Rub this on as soon as you get
ready in the morning, and then again during the day.
___ First Aid Kit - A small first aid kit with the
following:
Band-Aids
Antiseptic or Iodine
Gauze Pads
Tylenol/Advil
Tums/Imodium
Medical Tape
Specific Allergy Medication - Bee Stings,
Benedryl, Epi-Pen, etc.
___ Safety Kit - A few items that can help: Flare
Kit, Gasoline Siphon, Jumper Cables

___ Phone Numbers - Tournament Director &
Registration, Hotel, Partners, etc.
___ Food for Travel & Tournament Day (s) - Water,
Sports Drink, Snacks.
___ Vehicle Prep - Air in Tires, Fuel Up, Washer
Fluid, Registrations (Boat & Vehicle).
___ Boat/Trailer Kit - Jack, Spare Tire,
Fix-A-Flat, Travel Tool Kit, AAA Card
___ Extra Prop (s) - For both main motor and
trolling motor. Doesn't hurt to have an extra
bushing/washer/screw for main prop (you will lose more of
these than props).
___ Extra Trolling Motor - Based on affordability
and room.
___ Tools - Have necessary tools in boat to change
out both main motor prop and trolling motor props.
Also have electrical wire stripper/all-in-one tool for
potential electrical problems.
___ Batteries - Fully charged before you
leave. Double check your inboard charger and make sure in good
working order.
___ Extension Chord - Long enough to charge the batteries up at
the hotel.
___ Favorite Music - Sounds Goofy, but it helps
to get you in a good mood, motivated, and into that zone
while you are traveling.
___ Tackle - Extra Everything, especially for
the big tournaments in which you've invested so much time
and money.
