Stained Water

You need a good Search Bait in shallow stained water - try using a 1/8 ounce spinnerbait in a chartreuse or dark color.

In stained water you are more apt to be able to get in tight on holding fish without spooking them.

In stained or muddy water, most pros will start with big, dark lures that are easiest for bass to spot, and for good reason.

Bass tend to get a little braver and more aggressive in stained water. This can be a good time to draw them in with a lure that churns things up, like a crankbait, spinnerbait, or almost any topwater lure.

Bass generally become more aggressive in stained water, possibly because they feel safer from predators or because they have to work harder to get a meal.
