Spinnerbaits - Sky Conditions

Clear Skies – Use translucent color baits. Remember, the idea is to use a bait that the bass can ‘Not” completely distinguish. This means sometimes you want to trim down the bait on clear days, especially in clear water. On these clear days you also want to go with a clear skirt, even more so when there is a ripple on the water.

Cloudy Days – Painted blades are key. The idea here is you want that bait to silhouette against the top of the water. Gold blades have more visibility in dirty or stained water. You can’t go wrong by first trying chartreuse blades and then going from there depending on the bites you are getting.
