Cold Water

-
Definition of cold water - generally when pros or experienced anglers are talking about cold water they are talking about water that is 50 degrees, give or take 5 - 10 degrees both directions.

- Downsize your bait.

- Fish Slower, and if you think you are fishing as slow as you possibly can, fish even slower......

- Spot - find that prime vertical structure structure transitioning from really deep water to a nearby shallow cove.

- Fishing Points - typically if you do your homework before you go out on a lake you can spend just 3 minutes and locate 2 -3 possible points with contour lines that become closer together, adjacent from deep water and somewhat close to shallow water.

- Cold Water Baits - Jig & Pig, Worms, tubes

- Presentation - as mentioned above, drag those suckers as slow as you can handle it across the bottom feeling the structure.

- Take the extra time with your fish finder to locate the prime areas.

- Downsize your line, try Berkley Vanish 6 -8-lb test.  This works great with a grub or a 4 - 5 inch worm.
