Cold Front Strategies

Back to Expert Articles

- When a cold front comes through, bass will immediately move a few feet deeper, however they will still be active at the onset of the cold front (5-10 foot level).

- If conditions are cold (40-50 degrees), Overcast, Windy (out of NW) - fish the eastern shore of the lake and give a crankbait a try. Getting down a little deeper where they may have pulled off to and fishing the wind-blown shoreline where the baitfish may be getting pushed up against is the logic behind this cold front tactic.
